DA Honors Law Enforcement Officers on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
(McKean County, Pennsylvania)—- January 9th marks Law Enforcement Appreciation Day – a day set aside to recognize the difficult work of our area law enforcement.

They sacrifice their time, their own peacefulness, and, sometimes, their lives.
Every day, we should remember our officers and honor those sacrifices.
Their willingness to make those sacrifices at their own peril is exceptional.
But we are lucky that so many McKean County residents do.
No officer knows what his shift will become. Whether a violent domestic incident to a seemingly routine traffic stop – any encounter can turn deadly. Yet they respond as if they have put that knowledge out of their minds.
It is our privilege to work with these officers.

ANNUAL SEEDLING SALE UNDERWAY
01/08/2024—HARRISBURG, PA – Although it’s winter, landowners can begin making plans to help wildlife this spring – and beyond – by planting tree and shrub seedlings offered by the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Howard Nursery.
The 2024 seedling order form is available online, and sales are underway.
The Howard Nursery grows tree and shrub seedlings for use on state game lands, by participating Hunter Access cooperators, in the Seedlings for Schools program and by the Game Commission’s conservation partners.
Any remaining surplus is available to Pennsylvania residents to purchase for wildlife food and cover, watershed protection, soil-erosion control, and for reclamation of disturbed areas, such as surface mine sites and utility rights-of-way.
The selection of seedlings changes from year to year due to available seed, seedling germination, and growing conditions.
