Johnsonburg, Pa.: Jim Pennington, Jr., President of the Rolfe Beagle Club, announces the results of the 8th Annual Statewide Coyote and Fox Hunt or Trap held over two weekends in February. “We appreciate predator hunters for the service they provide in keeping excess coyote and fox numbers in check,” said Jim.
Josh Bizzak harvested three coyotes, including the largest female coyote (43.0#) of the event. He also harvested three red foxes. Josh has a SPECIAL THANK YOU to all the private landowners that let him hunt on their lands.
John and Isaac Dellaquella each harvested four coyotes. John harvested the largest coyote overall at 44.4#, that also turned out to be the largest coyote of the event. Isaac harvested the largest coyote for the second weekend at 35.0#. He also harvested the largest fox for the event when he brought in a 13.0# red fox.
Not to be outdone, Sean Holjencin and Team Big Dog Hoffman also brough in four coyotes each.
Ray Bevacqua set a new gray fox record for the club when he harvested a 12.2 female gray fox the first weekend, but his record was short-lived. Tyler Fitch and Collin Orinko jointly harvested a new gray fox record for the club when they registered a 12.4# gray fox. This female gray fox also turned out to the largest female fox harvested at this event.
Bryan Uhl and Brook Meyer also harvested coyotes. Patrick Uber, Bryan Uhl, and Tyler Fitch also brought in additional foxes. Congratulations to all!
Rolfe Beagle Club’s Statewide Coyote and Crow Hunt will take place in September 2024.
