Brian D. Winters, 64, of Ridgway, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on February 16, 1960, in Ridgway, a son of the late Paul “Gene” and Grace “Mitzi” Oertly.

On May 22, 2009, he married Johnna McGrath, who survives.

Brian was a graduate of Ridgway High School, class of 1978, and  worked as a maintenance mechanic at APG, retiring after more than 20 years of service. Those who knew Brian will recall his deep affection for his beloved cats and dogs, his passion for the outdoors, and his love of hunting, fishing, and rattlesnake hunting. Brian also found joy in the simple pleasures of Jeep rides and was often found immersing himself in the exhilarating sounds of rock music at concerts. He was a dedicated member of various community organizations, including the Ridgway Eagles, Ridgway Legion, Ridgway Moose, Brockway Sons of Italy, Rolfe Beagle Club, and the NRA.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by beloved animals, Tigger, Bella, Dakota, Karter, Korbin, Angus, Jazzmin, and Jackyl, a sister, Barbara Winters of Wellsboro, and a brother, Randall Winters of Mechanicsburg. He is also survived by a aunt, Nancy Winters of Warren, and aunt and uncle, Walter Winters and his wife Nancy of Corsica.

A Funeral Service for Brian D. Winters will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM at The Bible Training Center, 657 Evergreen Drive, Ridgway, PA, 15853, with Rev. Ron Burkett officiating. Attendees are invited to dress in casual or camo attire, reflecting Brian’s down-to-earth nature and love for the outdoors. 

Burial will follow at Ott Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
