Mary E. Hulings, 95, formerly of School Street, Bradford, passed away, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Mary was born in Olean, NY on February 5, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Oren Elliott and Mary E. (Swarm) Elliott-King.
She attended Olean NY schools.
Mary had worked at AirCo-Speer, and prior to her retirement she worked at the Red Cross as a cook for the Meals on Wheels program. She had volunteered at the Bradford Manor and the Pavilion at BRMC. Mary was a former member of several local clubs and auxiliaries.
On December 21, 1985 in Bradford she married Leonard G. Hulings who preceded her in death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Dolores Schleigh and Elaine B. Pinheiro.
There will be no public services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Dr. George P. Evans, of 33 Berva Drive, Bradford, a noted journalism educator and communication specialist, died Monday (June 12, 2023) in Erie.
He was born on Dec. 23, 1943, in South Plainfield, NJ.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Irene (nee Cavalline), of Bradford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Anne Evans, of South Plainfield, and a brother, Dennis, of Princeton, NJ. Besides his Bradford home, Dr. Evans and his wife enjoyed their second home at 218 Stockton Ridge, at Foxmoor, in Cranberry Township, PA.
During the past decade he devoted most of this time and support to the Evans- Krivak Gynecological Cancer Research and Education Fund, which he and his wife, an ovarian cancer survivor, endowed to raise funds for ovarian cancer, which remains one of the least funded and understood among cancers.
Dr. Evans was a journalism professor at St. Bonaventure University for 29 years, hired as one of the youngest instructors at the college in 1966. He retired from that position in 1995 to enter into private practice as proprietor of Communication Services. In addition, in 2005 he was named senior project manager for Northeast Division of Finnegan & Company, of Little Rock, AR, a leading national grant and procurement consulting firm. Immediately upon his retirement, other than his own business, he was named a research analytical consultant for Carr Marketing Communications of Amherst, NY, a position which he held until his death.

The River Facebook site is reporting Cameron County District Attorney Paul Malizia was shot. Commenters report a female is in custody. No other information available.

James William Rea Paup of Fruitland Park, FL (formerly of Kane, PA) passed away Friday June 9, 2023 at the age of 88, having been born on February 24, 1935.
He was the son of the late Harry R. Paup and Ruth L. Lindblade, formerly of Kane, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife Thora Lynne Lehman (married February 9, 1957), as well as his infant sister, Barbara Ann Paup and his daughter, Jody Rea Hogan.
He is survived by his brother John F. (Chris) Paup, of Kane, PA and Wilmington, NC as well as his loving daughters Polly (John) Park Jr. of TN, Jamie Huntsman of MN, Kelly (Paul) Warner of TN and Sherry (Randall) Shappard of FL. Mr. Paup was also the proud grandfather of his 10 grandchildren; John (Jay) Park III, Sarah Park Wunderlich, Brian Huntsman, Brandy Rea Berry, James Michael Hogan, Aaron Hogan, Brandon Warner, Colleen Warner, Marc Shappard and Kristen Nash, as well as 2 great-granddaughters Emily Park and Linnea Huntsman along with many nieces and nephews and also his wife’s sister Virginia “Lou” Lehman and brother Jon E. (Gale) Lehman.
At the time of his passing, Mr. Paup was proud to have been the 2nd oldest and the 2nd longest lifetime member of Kane B.P.O.E., Elks Lodge #329.
At the wishes of the deceased there will be no service however, he will be laid to rest at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Kane, PA.

Edward H. Crisman, 69, of 12 Mechanic Street, Bradford, PA passed away suddenly, Monday, June 12, 2023, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born October 1, 1953, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Maurice A. and Mary Jane (Evans) Crisman.
Ed was a 1971 graduate of Bradford High School, and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park NY.
Ed worked as a sous chef in Oklahoma, in the oil fields around Bradford, and was formerly a doorman at Players.
He attended the Church of the Ascension. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, backgammon, billiards, and flying, which was his true passion. He enjoyed telling stories of past adventures. In his youth he played Ice Hockey.
Surviving are three sisters; Susan L. (Stephen) Curley of Pennsburg, M. Melissa Crisman of Leesburg, VA, and Jennifer A. Morrison of Port Allegany, two brothers; M. Kerry (Cindy) Crisman of Smethport, and Craig E. Crisman of Mt. Jewett, one uncle, Forrest E. “Gene” Crisman (Phyllis), of Sun City FL, 11 nieces and nephews, several grand nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
Family will receive friends on Friday June 16, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave., where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
