Dept 6,5,26 dispatched for a reported atv accident with injuries.
Chief 5 arrived on scene and began to search for the victim. Rescue 6-8 and Chief 6-20 arrived on scene and established command. Two members from 6-8 with med equipment hitched a ride on a Good Samaritans atv to the patient to initiate patient care.
Chief 5 had to drive down a rough small dirt road for over 1.5 miles before finding the patient. Rescue(ATV) 5-28 and squad 5-18 followed Chief 5. Based on the injuries sustained to the patient Chief 5 requested a helicopter.
The landing zone was set for the airstrip in Knoxville and Patrol 6-4 and Patrol 5-4 were sent to the LZ. Chief 6 arrived at the LZ and was the Landing zone officer. Captain 5-90 staged at 249 and Edgewood hollow intersection to prevent any unwanted traffic from coming up the trail while bringing patient out. Captain 6-90 setup at the east of the airstrip to prevent any unwanted traffic coming down the airstrip and interfering with the landing zone.
After crews with the patient assessed and packaged patient for transport they started their travel out. Due to the patient injuries and the rough terrain they couldn’t move very fast on the way out. After a little while Rescue(atv) 5-28 made its down the hill and across the river to meet up with Wellsboro ambulance and Wellsboro hospital medics where the ambulance went enroute to the helicopter.
