Leadership Potter County is a great opportunity for residents from throughout Potter County to learn about themselves, participate in collaborative experiences and engage in opportunities to become more civic-minded.
What do you think makes a good leader? Do you see yourself in a leadership role in the near future or sometime during your career? Do you want to have an impact on the communities where you live and work?
One of the most critical needs at the local level is strong leadership. LPC 2024 will help participants expand their personal leadership skills, provide opportunities to network with cohort members and county residents, introduce them to key issues currently facing the region, and deepen their understanding of future trends that may impact Potter County.

Roderick G. “Rod” KINLEY, of Coudersport, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023, with his loving and devoted wife of more than 70 years, Faye, by his side. Recently, Rod had expressed that when the time comes, “I wish only that it just be myself alone with my darling Faye.”

At 91 years of age, Rod frequently pointed out with pride that, “I am the oldest any one of my family has ever made it to.” Born November 13, 1932, in York, as the eldest child to Edgar C. and Mildred E. Tracey Kinley. Rod was joined a few years later by a brother, Terry Kinley, followed by a sister, Prudence Kinley Ruth. Notorious for a recalcitrant attitude, Rod always did what he wanted to do.

In general, the boards of county commissioners in Pennsylvania are bipartisan — they typically have at least one Republican and one Democrat. But in Potter County, a successful write-in campaign this year means Republicans will hold all three seats.
Robert Rossman lost his bid for county commissioner in the 2023 Republican primary — by 11 votes.
But as Rossman notes, the county leans very Republican.
“Looking back at previous elections, the numbers were there to accomplish this,” he said.
So, Rossman waged a write-in campaign in the November General Election — and won. While the campaign and outcome may be unusual, it is not unheard of.
