Kenneth J. Rimer, 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, September 8, 2024 following a lengthy illness.

He was born on January 4, 1948 in St. Marys, a son of the James and Eileen Nero Rimer.

On November 21, 1970, in St. Marys Church, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Taylor Rimer, and they’ve been walking together hand in hand for more than 53 years.

Ken was a lifelong resident of the area and graduate of Elk County Christian High School, class of 1965. He served in the US Army from 1968-1970, and then retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after more than 40 years of service. Ken enjoyed reading, a good glass of wine, and his evening walks with his wife. His warm smile and caring nature endeared him to all who knew him, leaving a lasting impact on his friends and family. Known for his special version of Riverdance, Ken enjoyed laughing with friends and family, and was loved by all who knew him. He never turned down the chance to share a bowl of popcorn or a bag of Cheetos around the campfire, but most of all, he cherished his family and grandchildren.

Carl T. Coole, 83, of Coudersport, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.

Paul M. Fledderman, 36, of 428 Ash Street, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 9, 2024 in Sardinia, New York. 

He was born July 21, 1988 in St. Marys, son of Peter and Joyce Patterson Fledderman, who survive of St. Marys.

Paul was a graduate of Elk County Catholic High School, Class of 2007, where he was a friend to many and participated in track & field and cross country.  He enjoyed participating in sports as a youth and excelled as a point guard for the St. Marys Cavaliers.  Following high school graduation, he attended Gannon University and was a member of the cross country team for the Golden Knights.   Following his time at Gannon, Paul earned his Associate’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and worked as a superintendent for Zoladz Construction.

Jamie L. Olmstead                  “beloved daughter and niece”

Jamie L. Olmstead, 45, of Wellsville, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

Born on Wednesday, July 11, 1979 in Port Allegany, PA, she was a daughter of Fred L. Olmstead and Alta L. Hardes Manning. 

Jamie attended school in Portville and Bolivar, and graduated from Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse, PA. 

Bertha M. Texter         “beloved mother, grandmother, and sister”

Bertha M. Texter, 82, of Coudersport, formerly of Bethlehem and Perkasie, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in UPMC Cole, with her loving daughter by her side.

Born on Saturday, June 6, 1942 in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of Frederick and Viola Kluzt Hawk.  In 1959 in Bethlehem, she married James Texter, who passed away on March 6, 2020.

Bertha held many positions throughout her life. In her younger years, she was employed by Thomas and Betts Company in North Wales.  Her last job was in Honesdale at Walmart as a baker.

She loved shopping and playing Bingo. Bertha also loved vanilla cookies, sugar cookies and most especially, glazed donuts.  Her greatest love was her family.

Diana L. Bailey

Diana L. Bailey, 81, of Warren, PA, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Rouse Home.

She was born on March 13, 1943, in Olean, NY, and was the daughter of the late Norman McCool and Helen Adams. Diana married her husband, Arthur Bailey, in Red House, NY, on December 12, 1959. She spent most of her working life at the Blair Corporation as a supervisor until her retirement.

Marston P. Watters, age 95, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Sunday, September 8, 2024. 

He was born on February 19, 1929 in Elmira, NY, a son of the late Edward and Nina (Palmer) Watters and was married for 71 years to the late Beverly L. (Niles) Watters who passed away in 2020.
