Cynthia S. Buckheit, 80, of Port Allegany, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

Born November 10, 1945, in Port Allegany she was a daughter of the late Martin and Marian (Forslund) Sawyer.

Cindy was a woman whose life was marked by faith in the Lord and her quiet strength was an encouragement to those around her. From a young age, she loved the Lord and remained devoted to Him throughout her life. Her relationship with Christ shaped every part of who she was as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and servant. Her family will always remember her smiles and her hugs, her “Lord Bless Yous”, and that she always waved goodbye from the porch. To know Cindy was to be prayed for and loved.  She lived out the words of 1 Thessalonians 5:18, praising the Lord in every situation, good or bad. Though our hearts grieve, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Smethport – Jill R. Jordan, 69, of Smethport, passed away Sunday (February 15, 2026) at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.

She was born December 23, 1956 in Sedailia, MO, the daughter of James Gotshall and Lois Hults . On August 31, 1974, in Eldred, PA, she married Thomas B. Jordan, who survives.

Jill was a 1974 graduate of Port Allegany High School and received her CNA from BOCES in Olean, NY. She worked as a CNA for several years, and ultimately worked at Char-Lo Ceramics of Port Allegany, PA, along with her family.

She was a member of the Smethport Red Hats and the Allegheny Mountain Engine & Implement Association.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:

A daughter: Erin (Alvin) Loveless of Smethport

Three grandchildren: Odin Loveless, Landon Loveless and Kelsey Peters

One sister: Joy Fortner of Port Allegany

Two brothers: Jamee Gotshall of Tennessee and Tim Gotshall of Eldred

And several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jill was preceded in death by a son, Clinton B. Jordan, on June 28, 2016.

There will be no visitation or services.

Gary W. Wolfe, 71, of Middlebury Center, passed away Saturday February 14, 2026, at his home.

He was born August 23, 1954, in Keyser, WV, the son of the late Leonard W. and Frances E. (Fanto) Wolfe.

He married the former Gloria A. Fuller, and they have been married for 52 years. Gary graduated from Keyser High School, Class of 1972, and owned and operated Wolfe Communications retiring in 2025. Gary was a faithful servant of the Lord and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member and supporter of the Navajo BIC Mission, Bloomfield, NM, and made many visitations with shut-ins.

In addition to his wife, Gloria, Gary is survived by sons: Kristopher Wolfe, and Anthony (Jessica) Wolfe both of Middlebury Center; mother-in-law, Lois Fuller of Middlebury Center; brothers-in-law: Rex (Danelle) Fuller of Middlebury Center; and Floyd (Kate) Fuller of Millerton; grandchildren: Mitchell Wolfe, Alexandra Wolfe, Kaitlyn Wolfe, Garrett Wolfe, and Alyssa Wolfe, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gene Fuller.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The family suggest memorial contributions in Gary’s name to be made to the Navajo BIC Mission, 240 NM – 57, Bloomfield, NM 87413.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Lila J. McLaughlin, 83, of Cyclone, at 1pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Hilltop Baptist Church, 3695 PA-646, Gifford, PA, with Pastor Max Simms, officiating.

William D. “Bill” McKean, 83, of Smethport, passed away Monday (February 16, 2026) at UPMC-Hamot, Erie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, 2-4 and 6-8PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., Smethport.

Funeral Mass will be on Friday, Feb. 20, at 10AM in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport.

David Robert Swaney of Bradford, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Buffalo General Hospital.  

Born on January 21, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the first son of Robert F. and June D. Swaney.  On July 10, 1971 he married Andrea J. Swaney of Punxsutawney.

In addition to his wife of almost 55 years, he is survived by one daughter, Stephanie (Erik) Wessel of Pinckney, Michigan and their son Andersson, Dave’s only grandchild; one son, Jared Swaney of Bradford; his sister, Linda (Aubrey) Raper of North Carolina; his brother, Scott (Bonnie) Swaney of Renfrew, Pa.; three nieces, Jessica, Saysha and Athena and three nephews, Noah, Jason and William.

Dave earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Clarion State College and became an elementary teacher.  He taught for 30 years in Bradford schools, where he loved his students and the camaraderie with his fellow teachers.  He taught Sunday school and youth group, and led adult Bible studies at West Branch Methodist Church and later at First United Methodist.  He was very involved in local outreach programs at both churches because he loved helping others.  He was a member of the Gideons International, helping to distribute Bibles on many occasions.  Dave also coached many different soccer teams throughout the years.

He loved to sing and act, participating in many community productions, the Contemporary Christian Choir and his churches’ choirs and praise team.

After a courageous battle with several rounds of a rare form of cancer, Dave succumbed to respiratory failure.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Destinations of Bradford, the American Cancer Society or the Gideons International.

A Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Friday, February 20, at 11am.
