The 49th Annual All-Alumni Reunion for Port Allegany High School
The 49th Annual All-Alumni Reunion for Port Allegany High School was held at the VMI (Veteran’s Memorial, Inc.) on Saturday, September 28. Over 100 guests attended the event with twenty-six classes represented ranging from the Class of 1951 (Sylvia Davenport) to the Class of 2023 (Makayla Alcorn).
Alumni President, Phil Smith, welcomed the group and asked for a moment of silence for Robin Formoso, Alumni President until her passing earlier this year. After leading the Pledge of Allegiance, Smith introduced the MC for the evening – Denny Bloss, Class of ’76.
The Blessing was given by Rev Tom Kilburn, Class of ’69 followed by a buffet dinner served by the VMI Auxiliary.
Following the dinner, a short meeting was held with the election of new officers including Phil Smith as President; Makayla Alcorn, Vice-President; Ann DeHaven Smith as Secretary and Edna Taylor, Treasurer.
Recognized were the eldest in attendance, Sylvia Davenport, Class of 1951; traveled the furthest, Cristina Conforti – a former Rotary Exchange Student from Argentina who attended PAHS with the classes of 71 and 72; door prizes for a free breakfast at the SAL Breakfast Sunday morning went to Susan Carlson and Eric Crawford was the winner of a free pass for next year’s Alumni Dinner/Dance. Also recognized were the Class of 1964, celebrating their 60th reunion and the Class of 1969, celebrating their 55th reunion. Before ending the meeting with the singing of the Alma Mater, there was a roll call of classes.
Music for the event was provided by RSVP including Joel Anderson, Class of 1960.
The Golden Anniversary Alumni Dinner/Dance is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025 Further details will be announced as they become available.
