Julianne “Julie” (Costanzo) Cogley, 68, Of St. MARYS, PA
Julianne “Julie” (Costanzo) Cogley, 68, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2024 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Julie was born on May 1, 1956 in Punxsutawney to her late parents Frank and Mildred Swarmer Costanzo. Julie attended Saints Cosmos and Damian elementary school, then moved to the public school system and graduated in May 1974. Julie was very active and popular in high school, as she was elected vice-president of student counsel and voted as basketball queen in her senior year.
Julie and her husband, Bob, started dating toward the end of their junior year in high school. They were wed on October 9, 1976, in Punxsutawney.Julie worked at Nay W. Shields Insurance Agency in Punxsutawney from 1973 until February 1985 when she, Bob, and their daughter Angela moved to Corry, PA upon Bob’s assignment with the Pennsylvania State Police. While living in Corry, Julie gave birth to their son, Brian.
In 1987, they moved to Saint Marys, PA. Julie started working at Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital in 1987 and retired from Penn Highlands Elk in May 2019.
Julie enjoyed her work and loved to read, cook, and bake. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and dear friends. Julie was known to bring love, joy, and positivity into everything she did.
Julie is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Cogley, her daughter Angela Wirick (Mike) of Gibsonia, PA, her son Brian (Kayla) Cogley of Cranberry Twp., PA, her sister Peg Henninger of Walston, PA, and her sister-in-law Barbara Costanzo of Dubois, PA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and her grandchildren Caitlin Wirick, and Connor, Brock, Grant, and Callie Cogley.
In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Costanzo, her sister, Judy Giffin, and her grandson, Noah Wirick.
A celebration of life for Julie will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on October 12, 2024 from 10:00AM until 12:00PM. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Thomas Curry, O.S.B., officiating.
