WELLSBORO COMMUNITY CONCERT ASSOCIATION TO OPEN 76th SEASON THIS SATURDAY, SEPT. 28 WITH LOVELIGHT, THE PREMIER GRATEFUL DEAD TRIBUTE BAND
This Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Coolidge Theatre at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro, the 76th Season of the Wellsboro Community Concert Association will open with a concert by Lovelight, the premier Grateful Dead Tribute Band.
This New Jersey-based band is composed of talented veteran musicians and dedicated Deadheads, including special guest Joni Bottari, lead guitarist; Dana Carroll, bass guitarist; Sean A. Kelly, keyboardist and vocalist; Michael Slom, vocalist; Steve Sprague, Jr., rhythm guitarist, vocalist and founding member; and Todd Weiss, drummer.
Grateful Dead music is unique in that it is drawn from several genres often melded together. Since 2011, the six Lovelight members have been known for their high-energy, electrifying performances and their dedication to keeping it real.
The other five 76th season concerts are: Black Tie Groove on Oct. 19 with Motown, Soul, Funk and more; The Gibson Brothers on Nov. 16, Bluegrass at its finest; House of Hamill on Feb. 15, 2025, Upcycled Celtic Folk and Vintage Vibes; Dàimh, award winning ‘Gaelic Super Group” on March 15, 2025; and The EG Kight Trio on April 5, 2025, with EG Kight’s blend of “country flavored southern fried Blues.
All six Saturday concerts are being presented at 7:30 p.m. in the Deane Center’s Coolidge Theatre during WCCA’s 2024-2025 season.
A Season Subscription for adults 19 and older for the six WCCA concerts is $75 or $12.50 per concert, a $105 savings.
A Student Subscription for ages 13 to 18 for the six-concert series is $25 ($4.17 per concert), a $5 savings.
Youngsters, ages 12 and under, are admitted free to the six-concert series when accompanied by a paying adult. Please reserve a seat for any child attending for free.
Non-subscribers 19 and older can purchase individual concert tickets for $30.
WCCA is currently offering a very limited number of Combo Season tickets for $110 that includes all six-season concerts plus the special Kitchen Dwellers concert, which is not part of the 76th season, on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Coolidge Theatre. The quartet features Folk-infused Bluegrass spiked with Rock energy. Combo tickets and Individual Kitchen Dwellers tickets are only available online at wellsborocca.org. Individual tickets are $39. Students 18 and younger will not be admitted for a reduced price or for free to this concert.
