Lloyd E. McGraw, 97, of Lindenwood Drive, Emporium, died Sunday, September 22, 2024 in Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
Lloyd was born November 25, 1926, in West Bakersfield, California, the son of Lynn and Elise Heck McGraw, grew up in East Bakersfield and graduated from Bakersfield High School.
On January 19, 1949, in Emporium, he married Barbara Schnee who died November 29, 2012. A veteran of WWII having served in the US Army, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, now Endless Mountains Methodist Church in Emporium, and was a 33-degree Mason and a member of the Coudersport Consistory. In 1991 he retired from GTE Sylvania, formerly Sylvania Electric in Emporium, where he was employed as a machinist.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Barbara of 63 years, his daughter, Janet Kelly, and six siblings, Philip, Martha, Lee, Charles, Loretta and Betty Lou.
Survivors include: one son, Larry McGraw of Emporium; six grandchildren: Erin (Kris) Betz of Fulsom, CA, Doug McGraw of Sacramento, CA, Alysia, Lloyd, and Patrick Rairdan all of St. Marys, PA and Lori Beth Rairdan of Bradford; fifteen great grandchildren five great, great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Andy Kelly, New York.
Funeral services will be held in the Coppersmith–Condon Funeral home on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00 am with Robert Spaeth of Emporium officiating. A one-hour visitation will be held prior to the Services. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
Military honors will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Emporium Senior Center.
