Virginia A. “Ginger” Donachy, 72, of Benzinger Road, St. Marys, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Penn Highlands DuBois, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on November 22, 1951 in Brookville, PA, a daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Plyer Becker.

On February 5, 1972, she married Lawrence Donachy, who survives of St. Marys. Together they shared more than 52 years of marriage.

Ginger was a lifelong resident of the area. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, and cherished her grandchildren. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, and looked forward to her days spent as a wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her husband Larry Donachy; she is survived by three children; JoAnn Donachy of St. Marys, Lawrence Donachy, Jr. of Waynesburg, and Shaun Donachy of St. Marys, by two grandchildren, Colby McCandless and Trinity Heindl, and by one great-grandchild; Jace.
She is also survived by four siblings; Ann Davis of Reynoldsville, Shirley (John) Terwilliger of Munderf, Walter (Shelly) Becker of Corsica, and Peg Denmark of Florida, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ginger was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Ben Becker and by one sister; Brenda Jarrell.

A Celebration of Ginger’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the St. Marys Beagle Club on Benzinger Road from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM, please join the family for food and fellowship and to share your favorite memories of Ginger.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
