Austin –Celebrate the last weekend of summer with a visit to Sinnemahoning State Park! All programs are free to the public

7:00 P.M 8:00 P.M –Campground Movie: The Incredible Journey of the Butterfies– Join a park naturalist for a showing of The Incredible Journey of the Butterflies and learn about the Monarch Butterflies long migration down to Mexico.
Meets at: Campground Amphitheater
Saturday, August 31st, 2024
1:00 P.M 3:00 P.M –Monarch Watch Butterfly Tagging– A Monarch butterfly presentation will be followed by a short walk to catch, tag, and release monarch butterflies. Aerial nets provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and be prepared to walk through fields. All ages welcome.

Pontoon Tours of the Stevenson Reservoir– Join park staff for a fun and informative 1-hour tour, as we cruise the shoreline of the George B. Stevenson Reservoir in search of wildlife. Group size is limited. To reserve a seat, please pre-register. Pre-registration is not required but is strongly recommended. There is no fee for regular Sunday interpretive pontoon boat tours, but DONATIONS ARE REQUESTED.

10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M.-Cell Phone Nature Photography– Today’s modern smart phones come equipped with powerful cameras that can create spectacular nature photos. Learn some tips & tricks to harness the power in your pocket and spend some time practicing creating images in the park. Participants will need a smart phone with a camera to participate.
