Diane E. Schoonover “Loving wife, mother, and grandmother”
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA – Diane E. Schoonover passed away suddenly Tuesday. Aug. 20, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Diane was born November 11th, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA and lived most of her life in Shinglehouse, PA. She was the daughter of the late Reuben and Georgia Donovan. She married the love of her life, Fay Schoonover on July 19th, 1966, who survives.
Diane loved her family more than anything in this world and was happiest when everyone was together. She was very active in PTA and sportsboosters at Portville Central while her children were in school. As her family grew, Diane did not slow down; she was always excited to watch her children and later grandchildren play sports, receive awards and graduate. Diane was very active and enjoyed a busy social life. Diane and Fay loved to spend their winters in Springhill, FL, where they visited friends and family, attended horse pulls, and soaked up the sun. She enjoyed every minute of the time she spent with her “ya-ya sisters” traveling, shopping, and just being together. Diane always had luck on her side and enjoyed time at the casino with friends and family. She always believed it was greater to give than receive and her generosity was unmatched. Diane was also a member of the Portville American Legion.
She was predeceased by her parents, Reuben and Georgia Donovan; brother Jerry Donovan; and a son BJ Schoonover.
Diane is survived by her husband Fay Schoonover, brothers George (Loretta) Donovan, Michael (Brenda) Donovan, and sister Jeanie Donovan. Sons Brent (Jamie) Schoonover, Brady Schoonover, Brandon (Jaime) Schoonover, Britton (Shannon) Schoonover, and daughter Brooke (Walt) Keim. Diane was blessed with 15 grandchildren, Jessica, Dylan, Elizabeth, Morgan, Maddison, Elayna, Sierra, Hailey, Zander, Parker, Skyler, Sheldon, Alexa, Sienna, and Kash. She was also blessed with 3 great grandchildren, Lucas, Anna, Cooper as well as many equally beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
