Ann D. Longo, 77, of Bradford, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Bradford Manor.
She was born on June 23, 1947 in Bradford; the daughter of the late Alfred and Dorothy Doughman Ekas.
She was a 1965 graduate of the Bradford Senior High School. She was also a 1969 graduate of the Lockhaven State College; where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
On June 21, 1969 in the St. Bernard Catholic Church; she married Victor A. Longo who preceded her in death on November 14, 2019.
Ann was a former member of the Jaycees Wives and the Bradford Welcome Wagon. She enjoyed knitting, playing word games, baking and swimming. She was also an avid reader throughout her life. She loved cats; she and her husband always had a pet cat at the house.
While in high school Ann volunteered at the Bradford Hospital as a candy striper. After college she was a Third-grade teacher at the former West Branch Elementary School for a few years prior to starting her family. Later on in her life she was a substitute teacher for the Bradford Area School District and a receptionist at the Bradford Nursing Pavilion for a couple years. She also enjoyed babysitting for some area families and selling Avon products for thirty-five years.
She is survived by three children, Rebecca (Jay) McLaughlin of Bradford, Mary Beth (James) Dwaileebe of Olean, NY and Steven (Melissa) Longo of Bradford; three grandchildren, Sophia Garvin, Maxwell Garvin and Kara Longo; two bonus grandchildren, Matthew Ostrander and James Ostrander and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
Private burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
