Margaret Ann (Schuster) Saporito, 90, of Warren, Pa
Margaret Ann (Schuster) Saporito, 90, of Warren Pa, formerly of Ludlow/Kane Pa went to meet the Lord on July 27, 2024. She was born December 9, 1933, daughter of the late Rose (Sterbank), and Joseph Schuster of Ludlow, PA.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband Charles Saporito, 1988, and 3 sisters,1 brother: Delores Schuster, Frances (Dolly) Dujmovic, Rose (Fiji) Reigal, George (Sonny) Schuster.
She is survived by Patricia (Schuster) Damcott of Richmond, VA, and her 2 sons, Chris (Holly) Saporito of Mohnton, PA, Jamie (Dana) Saporito of Odenton, MD, her Grandson Daniel Saporito, and fiancé Rebecca Weaver, of Leola, PA.
She was a majorette for the Kane Kadets Drum and Bugle Marching band. She was a lifetime member of the Polka Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, the North Western Slovenian Polka Boosters Club, and the VFW in Kane, PA. She was active in Little League Baseball as a score keeper and as a Den Mother of the Cub Scouts in the community. She was the winner of the Queen of the Hunt Contest in Kane, PA in 1953. She loved to read, sit in the sun, crochet, Polka and line dance, active in sports, exercise, loved walking, working crossword puzzles, and enjoyed the art of baking, especially the Italian and Slovenian delicacies. She also loved spending time with her only grandchild Daniel, and her sons, and daughter in laws.
Margaret was a life long Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and followed the team religiously every year. She loved to gamble on the teams, and usually came up with the winning picks.
Margaret claimed ‘not to be a dog person’ however quickly loved all her grand dogs. Playing with them in the house and in the yard.
As of later years, she cared and loved a rescue Yorkshire Terrier Named Pepsi, they were in separable.
Margaret attended Ludlow public schools, and graduated from Kane High School in 1951.
Margaret was employed by the New Process Company for a short time upon graduation. She was then employed by the Stackpole Carbon Company in Kane Pa in the office personnel department for the next ten years. She worked as a part time secretary for the late attorney James Bly, Esq. After moving to Warren, she was employed by Sylvania Electric in the computer department for the next 10 years. She also worked for Jamesway in the jewelry dept. Margaret worked for the Bon Ton stores in the Warren Mall for thirteen years, gaining many accolades including Employee of the Year, retiring in 2005. She was an organist at Holy Redeemer Church for over 40 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Fr. Mark O’Hern, Pastor, officiating and assisted by Deacon Ray Wiehagan. Family will receive friends for one hour prior from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the church.
