Harold L. Hagman, 97, formerly of Kane, PA died Friday, August 2, 2024 at Paramount Senior Living in McMurray, PA.
He was born February 3, 1927 in Clermont, the son of Fred and Anna Anderson Hagman.
On November 21, 1952, he married Phyllis Smith, who preceded him in death in 2017.
Mr. Hagman retired from National Fuel Gas Company in 1989, after more than 40 years of employment. He served in the United States Army and was stationed with the 88th Division in northern Italy late in World War II. He was a member of Wilcox Lodge 571, F & AM.
He is survived by sons Eric (Mary Lou) of McMurray and Keith (Tasha) of Estero, FL; grandsons Nevin (Jordan), Arden, Luke and Shane; nieces Adrienne Jonsson, Linda Bush, Heidi Rhodes, Marlene Hagman Smith and Heidi Hagman Linn; and nephews Kurt Hagman, James A. Smith and Joel Rhodes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ben, William, Karl and Esther Hagman.
Mr. Hagman was the longest-living member from the Hagman family tree that originated in Sweden and immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1885.
During his retirement years, he took his woodworking skills to another level, building custom-made birdhouses modeled after the owners’ actual homes for numerous area residents. A newspaper article in 1993 was headlined “Better Homes and Nests: Mr. Hagman’s Neighborhood.”
The family would like to express its deepest appreciation for the care provided by the staff at Paramount Senior Living of Peters Township and Paramount Hospice.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family and burial will be in Mt. Tabor cemetery.
