Richard A. Wineberg, 74, of Pierce Brook Road, Smethport, PA
Richard A. Wineberg, 74, of Pierce Brook Road, Smethport, PA went to be with his Lord, after a courageous battle with cancer, Tuesday (July 23, 2024) at UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born April 22, 1950, in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of Kenneth E. and Grace Nick Wineberg. On July 28, 1979, in Bradford, he married Shirley M. Tanner Myers, who survives. They were married 44 years.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Bradford High School, class of 1968.
Richard was employed with Belser & Hale of Bradford for several years, and also Dresser Co. of Olean, before his retirement.
He attended Hilltop Baptist Church in Gifford. He was a member and past master of McKean Lodge 388 F&AM, Smethport, and the Coudersport Consistory.
Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing, and sitting on the front porch swing of the home he built. He enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved pets, and sharing devotions with his wife daily.
Surviving are a son, David M. (Liz) Myers of Smethport; two daughters, Laura J. (Daniel Greene) Angell of Olean and Dianna M. (Marty Pascarella) Swank of Bradford; 10 grandchildren, Keith, William, Kenyon, Robert, Lyla, Juliana, Cooper, Daniel, O’Ryan and Hunter; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis (Sally) Wineberg and James Wineberg, both of Bradford; two sisters, Cindy (Ron) Peters and Debby Filarecki, both of Bradford; a sister-in-law, Deb Wineberg of Olean; several nieces and nephews; and many other close family members and friends who were important to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth R. Wineberg; a brother, William Wineberg; and two brothers-in-law, Mike Utter and Rick Filarecki.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (July 26, 2024) and noon to 1 p.m. Saturday (July 27, 2024) at Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will follow with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home by McKean Lodge 388.
