Melissa Ann Florence “MOE” Mosher, age 50, of Elkland, PA
Melissa Ann Florence “MOE” Mosher, age 50, of Elkland, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at home after a battle with breast cancer.
Born May 10, 1974 in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of Thomas and Sally (Bost) Mosher. Moe was born with cerebral palsy but she didn’t let that keep her down. She graduated from Elkland High School Class of 1993. She loved her classmates and kept in touch with them.
She also had many friends she communicated with all over the world. She was happy, kind, independent, compassionate, caring and thought of others before herself. She embraced cancer and did things “her way”, living her last days to the fullest. Moe had a never-ending love for her family and friends, her smile and spirit was infectious. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, loved her kids, but her greatest joy was loving on her pups; Zoey, Trico, Nitro and the late Roxy. She had an unbreakable bond with her kids and animals.
She is survived by her parents, Thomas and Sally Mosher of Elkland; siblings, Shannon and Cheri Mosher, Jody and Jeff Wood and Raymond and Jada Bost; cousin, Joseph Mosher; nieces and nephews, Thomas and Randi Mosher, Garrett and Taylor Mosher, Kameron Wood, Shylyn, Madison and Rayonna Mosher, Robert “Floyd” Bost, Dravyn and Lillian Evans and Luci Bost; great nieces and nephews, Sawyer, Izzy, Sullivan, Scarlett, Rosie and Parker; her best friend, Amy Heffner and longtime loving friend, Lisa Jolly.
Moe was preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd and Elberta Bost and Chester and Grace Mosher; aunt Joella Mosher and nephew, Christopher Lee Floyd Mosher.
Family will receive friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Monday, June 17th from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Champlin Cemetery.
There will be a dinner following the burial at the Elkland United Methodist Church, N. Buffalo St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kenyon Funeral Home to help the family with expenses.
