A FAMILY AFFAIR FAIRYTALE
Once Upon A Crime, The Trial of Goldilocks, by Robert Chauls and Joseph Robinette opens on Thursday, June 13th at 7:00pm at The Warehouse Theatre in Wellsboro. Directed by Titus Himmelberger, the story is a family-friendly romp through the aftermath of Goldilocks’ intrusion into the bears’ home as told in the classic tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. In the show, Goldilocks is prosecuted for breaking and entering, and the fairytale testimony takes the audience on hysterical twists and turns with all of our favorite characters offering their version of the story.
Director Titus Himmelberger, notes that the show is not only family-friendly, but happily there are a number of real family members in the cast. Suzette Urbano of Lawrenceville plays Granny alongside her daughter Aubrielle as Little Red Riding Hood. Laura Helrich and her daughter, Jennifer Post of Mansfield are playing the Bailiff and Henny Penny respectively. There are two sets of siblings from Wellsboro in the cast: Colin and Brianna Losinger and Cristina and Logan Kolk. While not related in real life, Himmelberger says, “The three actors playing the three bears are working so well together, it’s easy to believe that they are related too!”
This clever family show is filled with references and jokes that all of the adults will appreciate, as well as slapstick comedy and lots of action that kids will love. The show is generously sponsored by Dr. Donna and Ken Mettler, and by Gehman Iron. Performances are Thursday, June 13, Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 at 7:00pm, and Sunday, June 16 at 2:30pm. All performances take place at The Warehouse Theatre, 3 Central Ave., Wellsboro. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 under 18s. There is also a “family rate” of $25 for any group of people that make up a household.
