Galeton High Schoolers Helping Serve The Community
Galeton Food Bank Community Service – Galeton Food Bank which is located at the St. Paul Lutheran Church at 45 Pine Street, appreciates the help that 5 Galeton High School students provide as part of working towards their community service requirement. The students, along with other volunteers help unload the Food Bank truck from Williamsport on Tuesdays along with packing the food boxes. On the designated Friday, they help distribute the boxes to 85-90 families each month. The boxes consist of canned goods, dry goods, fresh produce, meat, and bread. In photo are three of the five students – Raven Squires, Darren Smith, and Tanner Wilson. Also in photo is volunteer Dan Benjamin. Not pictured are students Jack Olofson and Braiden Cimino. Distribution of food boxes are 9:15 AM – 11 AM the 4th Friday of every month except Nov. and Dev. which is the 3rd Friday. For more information on the Galeton Food Bank, call 814-435-2992.
