Daniel Ray Costley, age 61 of Knoxville, PA
Daniel Ray Costley, age 61 of Knoxville, PA passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 27, 1962 in Blossburg, PA, he was a son to Ronald and Julia (Button) Costley. Daniel spent 30 loving years together with Elizabeth “Betty” Twist and then on July 28, 2018 they decided to marry.
Dan was a dedicated, hardworking farmer having spent his life building his dream farm; Costley Dairy Farm, where he loved spending time with his cows and packaging and selling raw cow milk. Before he was a full time farmer, Dan worked for Gehman’s and then later went on to work at Stackpole in Knoxville, PA which became Kane Magnetic in Galeton, PA.
He enjoyed going on road trips to buy farming equipment, rebuilding vehicles and spending time with his 3 dogs – Ellie May, Josie and Buck. Dan was an all-around handyman, he loved tinkering on things, building new projects and helping his family with anything they needed. It was said that Dan was a proud, humble man and the “family mechanic”. He also was a member of the Butler Hill Baptist Church and he enjoyed spending time with his church family.
Daniel is survived by his loving spouse, Elizabeth “Betty” Costley of Knoxville; parents, Ronald and Julia Costley of Caton, NY; daughters, Lisa (Paul “Tiger” Jr.) Truax of Lawrenceville and Danielle (Nate) Pierce of Westfield; son, Bradley Kline of Elkland; step-children, Jennifer Barley of Middlebury, Trevor (Samantha) Cary of Knoxville and Amy (John) Finkeldey of Elkland; grandchildren, Dylan, Bailee, Haley, Aden, Logan, Emily, Colton, Skyler, Nate, McKenna, Arianna, Olivia and Emma; Siblings, Andy (Elizabeth “Beth”) Costley of Osceola, Helen (Doug) Pierson of Corning and Sally (Duane) Groover of Beaver Dams, NY; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and his 3 beloved dogs.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Costley Jr. and cousin/son-in-law, John Barley.
Family and friends are called to the Butler Hill Baptist Church, 1141 Butler Hill Rd Knoxville, PA 16928, on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00pm. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 4:00pm with Reverend William O’Neil officiating. Dan will be laid to rest at Butler Hill Cemetery on Monday, April 29th.
