Dale L. “Uncle Dale” Southard, 66, of Main St. Eldred, PA
Dale L. “Uncle Dale” Southard, 66, of Main St. passed away on Sunday (April 21st, 2024).
Born on October 29, 1957 he was the son of Lewis F. and Catherine Baker Southard. He was a 1975 graduate of Otto Eldred High School and then attended Toni and Guy Barber’s school in Erie, Pa.
Dale was a life long resident in Eldred and owned and operated Dale’s Barber Styling since 1986. He was a drummer in several local bands including Imagine, Tradewind, Shuffle, and Alabama Rain. He also played softball for “Skeeters Inn” and “The Dukes”
Dale was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Most of all, he was a great uncle to everyone and loved spending Wednesdays and Sundays at his sisters house with family. He was affectionately known as “Floyd the Barber” by all the locals.
Surviving is one brother; David (Bobbea) Southard of Eldred, one sister Ella Mae Oliver of Rixford, one sister in law, Sharon Southard of Rixford, as well as many nieces and nephews which he was very special to.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary in 2022 and Bob in 2007; a sister, Carolyn Spencer in 2021, as well as two brother in laws, Douglas L. Oliver in 2010 and Henry Spencer in 2019, as well as a sister in law, Sherry Southard in 2023.
Friends may call on Thursday (April 25th, 2024) from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am with the Rev. Rick Price, officiating. Burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette, PA.
