BAPL to Host Author Visit with Cheryl Bazzoui
Local author Cheryl Bazzoui, known by her pseudonym Ann McCauley, has authored three books and contributes book reviews to WPSU, BookBub, and Story Circle.org. She is actively engaged in writing for magazines, journals, and newspapers, and has also edited her husband Dr. Widad Bazzoui’s memoir, “The Man from Baghdad.” Cheryl is currently working on her next novel, If You Only Knew, showcasing her versatility and dedication to writing.
“Writing is my second, or perhaps third career, and it brings me immense joy. I got married at a young age, had three children, and then found myself a single mom after a divorce. Through a combination of college loans and part-time work, I managed to obtain degrees in Nursing, Psychology, and eventually a Master’s degree in Creative Writing in 2014. After serving many years as a registered nurse, I retired,” states Bazzoui. “However, I still maintain an active nursing license in New York and Pennsylvania, as one never knows when the need to return to work may arise,” she jokes.
The Bradford Area Public Library is hosting Bazzoui for an author’s visit on Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 PM. It will be an engaging evening as Bazzoui will share insights into her inspirations and the challenges she has faced in her writing journey. Following the author’s presentation, an opportunity for a Q&A session and book signing will take place.
Bazzoui’s first published work, Runaway Grandma (2007); a story that puts the spotlight on elder abuse, was nominated in 2008 for Woman’s Issue Book of the Year. Her next two published books, Pressure Cooker Christmas, and Mother Love, comprise her Willow Lane series. Besides penning her own stories, she also contributed to the anthologies, Women Writing on Family (2012) and Women Writing After Retirement (2014).
A limited number of copies of her works will be available for purchase at this venue, or residents can find her books, locally at the Main Street Mercantile, or online at Amazon.com. Don’t miss the opportunity to engage with the author and enjoy light refreshments after the event.
