Elk County Coroner Michelle A. Muccio-Krise is releasing the following report for the year 2023.

There were 361 deaths investigated in 2023 with the following breakdown:
83 natural deaths
31 accidental deaths
 -16 overdose deaths
  -15 falls among the elderly
3 suicides
37 nursing home death referrals
207 cremation authorizations 

The Cribs for Kids Program that Coroner Muccio-Krise oversees and administers also provided 8 cribs to mothers within the community in 2023 as well.
