Beverly “Sue” Jean Crawford, 77,
Beverly “Sue” Jean Crawford, 77, died at Sena Kean Manor, Smethport, PA at 6:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.
She resided with her longtime companion, John Ziegler, at 27 Whispering Pines Lane, Galeton, in Potter County, since moving there in 2001.
Beverly was born Aug. 5, 1946, the daughter of the late Jesse Clinton Keith and Betty Alva Harshbarger-Fouse.
She married Gary M. Crawford Sr. Dec. 31, 1979, at the Church of the Brethren, Harrisburg, and he preceded her in death May 24, 2001.
In addition to her longtime companion, John Ziegler, she is survived by a son Gary M. Crawford Jr. of Louisiana; stepdaughters, Debra Crawford Stone and her husband, Larry, Harrisburg, Sherry Crawford Witmer and husband, Steve, Mount Wolf, Dawn Crawford Schott and husband, Stewart, Edgemont, stepson, George Coffey, Linglestown, and a special grandson, Jerey Rohrer, Plum Borough.
A sister, Sara L. “Sally” Keith Measel, of Harmony, also survives.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Clinton Keith, in 1946.
Beverly worked as a clerk in the Department of Environmental Protection for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 37 years and resided in Harrisburg from 1964 until her move to Galeton.
She was a member of the Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church, Gaines, and a former member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church, Alexandria.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at the Cutright Funeral Homes — Smithfield Chapel, 313 Fairgrounds Road, Huntingdon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Dean officiating. A committal service will be held at the Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery, Alexandria, immediately following the funeral service.
