Alan M Dillenbeck, 69, Kane, PA
Alan M Dillenbeck, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 10, 2023 at the Lakeview Skilled Nursing Home, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Alan was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and Papa, who cared deeply for all of his family. He was so kind and always willing to help those in need. He was born Oct. 29, 1954 in Kane and was the son of the late Ralph and Ruth (Larson) Dillenbeck.
On June 30, 2001, in the Nebo Chapel in Mt. Jewett, he married Kristin (Edinger) Elliott, who survives. Alan was a 1972 graduate from Smethport High School and a 1974 graduate from Faith School of Theology in Maine. He worked at Kane Hardwood for 34 years, retiring in 2020. He had also worked at Ethan Allen , Pennzoil and he had pastored at two churches. He loved to share his love for Jesus Christ and the Word of God.
Al was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved trapping. He also enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the Civil War and WWII. Reading, gardening, tending to the blueberries and apple trees, brought him so much enjoyment. He had been a member of the Kane Guitar Choir, singing and playing his guitar at churches and other events and he was a member of the Mt. Jewett Sportsman Club.
Al loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always so proud of their accomplishments. He also enjoyed being with his family and loved attending family reunions.
In addition to his loving wife of 22 years, he is survived by two sons, Mike of North East and Mark of Mt. Jewett, a stepdaughter Connie (Dan) Sommers of North Kingsville, OH and five grandchildren, Brooke, Tysen and Dana Dillenbeck and Josh and Matthew Sommers; a sister Cindy (John) Andrews of Carlisle, mother-in-law, Connie Edinger of Mt. Jewett, sisters-in-law, Kim Madden, Julie Edinger, Janie (Matthew) McDonald and brother-in-law Dan (Janell) Edinger, several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. He was also survived by a special friend who was like a brother, John Keesee and Jeanne Verolini, who was a second mother to him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 30, from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Kane. A memorial service will immediately follow with the Rev. Bruce Kumher and Jim Eastman, officiating.
Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Jewett Library, Mt. Jewett Ambulance Assoc., Mt. Jewett Sportsman Club or a charity of the donor’s choice.
