Douglas L. Nelson, 67, of Osceola, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.
Born May 6, 1956 in Wellsboro, PA, he was a son of the late Lester and Helen (Himes) Nelson.
Doug was a 1975 Graduate of Elkland High School. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Air Force. On January 12, 1980 in Knoxville, PA, he married the former Lisa Baker, who survives.
Doug worked at Carbaugh Tool in Horseheads for 25 years and then was a machinist at Corning, INC for 17 years before retiring.
Doug was a past member of the Osceola Fire Department, a past attendant for the Osceola Ambulance and a former Osceola Township Supervisor.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and carpentry.
In addition to his wife, Lisa Nelson of Osceola, he is survived by a son, Ryan (Jennifer) Nelson, Osceola; two daughters, April (Ryan) Morgan, Elkland and Kristie (Chad) Earle, Osceola; seven grandchildren, Caleb Morgan, Dylan Earle, Leah Earle, Ayren Morgan, Alyvia Morgan, Ryder Nelson and Jaxsen Nelson; three sisters, Cynthia Blend, Elkland, Brenda Main, Osceola and Sharon “Sue” (Neal) Baker, Knoxville; his mother-in-law, Helen Baker, Wellsboro; a brother-in-law, Neal (Sue) Baker, Knoxville; and two sisters-in-law, Jeannette Plank, Knoxville and Jackie Ringler, Wellsboro.
In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by his father-in-law, Hugh Baker; brothers-in-law, Bruce Ringler, Alan Plank, Collis Blend and Roger Main; a nephew, Shawn Main; and two infant sisters, Flora Ann and Donna Marie.
Friends may call at the Osceola Presbyterian Church on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm, and on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 1:00-2:00pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Jamey Miller officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Tioga County Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery in Elkland.
