Jeanette C. Matto, 86, formerly of 20 South Second St., Bradford, PA passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born August 18, 1937, in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Izetta (Roller) Corbett.
Jeanette graduated from Clarion High School in 1955, Clarion State College in 1959, and Penn State University in 1969, with a master’s degree in education.
On July 27, 1968, in the First Presbyterian Church in Clarion, she married Michael J. Matto who passed away on March 21, 2022.
After graduating she became an Elementary Teacher at the Bradford Area School District and retired after 35 1/2 years.
Jeanette was a member and past four-time Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Lodge, and Grand Representative of Pennsylvania for two years. She was also a life member of the American Association of University Women, and a member of the Literary Club.
Surviving is one daughter, Katherine Elliott, of Mt. Jewett, two grandchildren, Bailee Elliott, and Kyle Elliott, two great-grandchildren, Ella and Sara, one sister Phyllis C. (John) Pionzio, of Atlantic Beach Fl, one brother, Charles (Betsy) Corbett Jr., of Wernersville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mike of 53 years, and one nephew, Matthew Corbett.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star Phoenix Chapter 15 will conduct services at 10:55 am followed by funeral services at 11:00 am with Rev. Rob Klouw, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
