Lewis “Leo” R. Haight, 66, of 5 Iroquois Drive, Bradford, PA passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born September 18, 1957, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Henry Jackson and Rose (Zimbicki) Haight.
He was a 1975 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
On August 4, 2012, in Bradford, he married Toni L. (Lundy) Haight who survives.
After high school Leo worked several jobs in the construction trade, he spent a number of years working concrete precast work and as a construction laborer for Kessel Construction. After an injury from a 27’ fall, he transitioned to a job at Case Cutlery. Over the 27 years he spent at Case, Leo hand-finished thousands of knives and eventually retired from running the wash tanks.
In his free time, Leo devoted himself to doing whatever his family was doing, spending as much time as possible with them over doing something for himself. In the rare occasions when he would take time to himself Leo loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, and gardening. During the summers he would spend weekends at the lake with family and always loved seeing his granddaughter Henley and spending time with her. Leo was a selfless person that went out of his way to help anyone in need. He will be missed dearly by everyone that knew him.
Surviving in addition to his wife Toni, of 11 years, is one daughter, Jacey (Cheyenne Wheatley) Duzick, of Olean, NY, two sons, Erick (Sami) Duzick, of Coudersport, and Christopher Haight, of Bradford, one granddaughter, Henley Forness, one sister, Veronica “Ronnie” Smoker, of Emporium, one brother, Dave (Debbie) Haight, of Bradford, five sisters-in-law, Jean Porter, of Rock Hill, SC, Carole (Nick) Troupe & Georgia (David) Goodwin, of Coudersport, Leta (Mike) Brimmer, of Harrison Valley, and Rachelle (Roger) Kellogg, of Shinglehouse, three brothers-in-law, Tom (Sharon) Lundy, of Shinglehouse, Bruce Lundy, of Ulysses, Eddie (Rachal) Lundy of Oswayo, and one mother-in-law, Carole Lundy, of Oswayo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lynn Stover, and his father-in-law, Edward Lundy.
Family will receive Leo’s friends on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Avenue.
