Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Wurm Johnston, 72, Kersey, PA
Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Wurm Johnston, born April 2, 1950, to the late Leroy and Dorothy (Luchs) Wurm, has passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 5th.
She was a devoted daughter, loving wife, cherished mother, and doting grandmother. Jackie was united in marriage with the love of her life, Michael ‘Mike’ Johnston, who preceded her in death, on July 6, 1968.
Jackie’s life was defined by her unwavering faith, and she always turned to God for guidance during challenging times. Her strong sense of humor brought joy to those around her, and she continued to share laughter and jokes until her final moments.
Family, friends, and faith were the cornerstones of Jackie’s life. She had remarkable versatility and excelled at many pursuits with ease. Her artistic talents shone through in her love of painting, drawing, and crafting.
Jackie had a special place in her heart for her beloved cats, Bert and Ernie, who she has now joined in eternity. She also reveled in the presence of her six grandchildren; Emily and Sophia Johnston, Dorrie and James Olay, Kiersten Brodie, and Kara Chicola, who all survive her. Jackie is also survived by her four children; Sean (Jennifer) Johnston of Ridgway, Julie (Howard) Olay of Kersey, Mike (Jennifer) Johnston of Kersey, and Andrew Johnston of Kersey. She is also survived by a sister Sandy Muhitch of McKinney TX. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Dorothy (Luchs) Wurm, her husband Mike Johnston, and sister Beverley Wurm.
Vibrant and full of life, Jackie was a gifted storyteller and a conversationalist who could brighten anyone’s day with her infectious smile and laughter. She had a unique ability to connect with people and spread happiness wherever she went.
In addition to her family and hobbies, Jackie dedicated her time to volunteering at the rectory and even extended her generosity to the local Catholic school. Her commitment to the community has touched the lives of many.
Jackie will be deeply missed by many, but her spirit and the joy that she brought to others will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and laughter that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband, Mike, and her cherished furry friends, Bert and Ernie.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jacqueline W. Johnston will be celebrated on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846, with Fr. Kevin Holland officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Krise Funeral Home, 339 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
