The upgrades to the Selinsgrove Driver License Center are part of a Guaranteed Energy Savings Act (GESA) project, initiated by PennDOT and the Department of General Services in 2021. Under the GESA, building systems deemed eligible for energy saving upgrades within a GESA Project are leveraged by future energy savings. The total savings for the Selinsgrove site for energy, operational and maintenance expenses are estimated at over $5,000 per year.
The major work being completed through the GESA project include electrical system upgrades, LED lighting, HVAC system, window replacement, insulation, drop ceilings and water conservation. In addition to the GESA work, PennDOT will also add new sidewalks, flooring, additional workstations and will expand the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) test pad.
