George D. Arnett, 96, of Bradford, PA
George D. Arnett, 96, of Bradford, PA passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the Pavilion at BRMC.
He was born on November 8, 1926 in Bradford, a son of the late David and Gertrude Jones Arnett.
He was a 1944 graduate of the Bradford Senior High School.
On February 5, 1949 in the West Branch United Methodist Church; he married Betty L. Briney; who preceded him in death on January 20, 2014.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; serving stateside from June 1944 until his honorable discharge in July 1946.
He was employed as a mechanic for the former Owens-Illinois, Bradford; until his retirement in 1989.
He attended the West Branch United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going for walks in the woods, traveling and beagles.
He is survived by one son, David (Diane) Arnett of Bradford; one daughter, Laura Keesler of Gifford; one sister, Zella Kleisath of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Arnett, and one daughter, Karen Churchill.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 in the funeral home with the Rev. Zoe Hatcher, pastor of the Open Arms Community Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the Friendship Table, 21 East Corydon St., Bradford, PA 16701.
