Amy Sue Rial, 47, Caton, NY
Amy Sue Rial was born on May 24, 1976, in Hornell, NY and was called home by her Lord and Savior on September 7, 2023.
Amy lived her faith every day of her life. “She stood strong, she stood courageous, she stood unwavering in her testimony of trusting God through the storm.”
Her empathetic heart led her to a fulfilling career in education where she taught at Horseheads School District for 25 years. She was a thoughtful teacher, well-respected, and dearly loved by her students and colleagues. Her commitment to nurturing young minds was recognized by the school district and helped her make a difference in countless lives.
She was a graduate of Whitesville Central School, Houghton College, and received her Master’s Degree from Elmira College.
Amy was a pillar of strength in her family and her love and devotion knew no bounds. She was a loving daughter to Lyle and Donalea Lewis, a cherished wife to Jason Rial, a loving mother to Madigan Rial, and a supportive sister to Sheri Sherman, Andy (Amanda) Lewis, and Mindy (Michael) Hanawalt. She is also survived by her grandfather, Robert Lewis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Perk Rial; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jarrod Rial and her cousin, Kenneth Lewis.
Her loyalty to her family mirrored her commitment to her faith, embodying the biblical verse, “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” (1 Corinthians 13:7-8)
Her undying love for her family, her dedication to her faith, and her passion for teaching remain her enduring legacy. Amy’s life was a living testament “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” (Proverbs 31:25) She taught us to live in faith, love unconditionally, and serve others selflessly. Her life was a beautiful example of Christian love and faithfulness.
