Open Arms to host gathering at Kinzua Beach
Open Arms Church of Bradford will hold a service, baptism and picnic on Sunday, Aug. 27, at Kinzua Beach.
The service is set to begin at 11 a.m. on Forest Road 617 in Mead Township, between Bradford and Warren, located across Route 59 from the Marina.
The service will feature music and a message preceding the baptism; all attending are asked to bring a chair. Following the baptism at Kinzua Beach, a cookout lunch will be served, and attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share.
Pastor Zoe Hatcher said that the church is excited about preparing to take the church on the road again. This will be the third year the church has hosted a service at Kinzua Beach, though they have performed baptisms there for many years.
“Our baptism service at Kinzua Beach is something that our people look forward to all year long,” said Pastor Zoe Hatcher. “Over the past several years, we have conducted numerous baptisms at this location, and now we are continuing to conduct our worship service there at the beach. This has been a wonderful opportunity for us to rejoice alongside those who will be publicly professing their faith in Jesus, in our beautiful surroundings in the PA Wilds. We encourage all who are interested in taking this step of faith, as well as those who are looking forward to celebrating these new lives in Christ to join us.”
Transportation will be available to Kinzua Beach. Bus times and stops are at 9:30 am, Togis, East Main Street; 9:35 am, Tops entrance, Main Street; 9:40 am, Marilyn Horne across from Veterans Square; and 9:45 am, Barbour Street near the public housing across from the VFW.
