Joseph Tominez, 90, of Birch Street, Bradford, PA passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 3, 2023, after a brief illness. 

Born April 24, 1933, in Bradford, the youngest of nine to the late Frank and Eva (Katzuna) Tominez. 

Joe was a 1952 graduate of Bradford Area High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. 

On April 15, 1961, in Our Mother Perpetual Help Church, he married Jane Ann (Kervin) Tominez, who preceded him in death on August 22, 1994.

Joe dreamed of working on the railroad as a child, using spice boxes as a train set. He began his dream job in 1963, a job he loved for over 30 years. He retired as an Engineer for the Buffalo Pittsburgh Railroad in 1993, to care for his beloved wife, Jane.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He especially enjoyed coffee with his friends after weekday Mass. Joe loved talking politics, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially loved his granddogs, Koda, Luna, Moses, and Rudy.
 
Survived by daughter, Doreen (John Locke) Tominez, and son, Mark (Jill) Tominez, all of Rochester NY, three grandchildren, Griffin, Owen, and Noah Tominez, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to Jane, he was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Mary Kloss, Eva Pace, Pauline Yetsconish, Margaret Pianzio, and Helen Ricci,and two brothers, Michael Tominez and Frank Tominez.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 am in St. Francis Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with Rev. John Jacquel, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. 

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Bradford Regional Medical Center and The Bradford Ecumenical home for their care and compassion.
