Lucille M. (Mitchell) Keck, 93, formerly of Wellsboro, PA
Lucille M. (Mitchell) Keck, 93, formerly of Wellsboro, PA passed away Friday July 21, 2023 at Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Scranton, PA.
She was born August 14, 1929, at home, in Morris Run, to William and Stella (Novitski) Mitchell.
She graduated from Morris Run High School, and on December 28, 1967, married Richard Keck, with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage.
She was an avid bowler, a member of the Wellsboro Moose, and a long time, committed, member of St. Peter’s Parish. She enjoyed working in the garden with her husband, and her favorite pastime was cooking and baking for her family.
She is survived by three sons: Fr. Michael Bryant of Duryea, PA, Gerald Bryant (Virginia) of Vero Beach, FL, and Raymond Keck (Theresa) of Perkasie, PA; a daughter: Bette Gombar (Douglas) of Perkasie, PA; Greg Metarko of Erin, NY, who was like a son to her; six grandchildren: Will, Gregory, Megan, Ryan, Eric, and Kelly; thirteen great-grandchildren; three brothers: Joe Mitchell (Ruth), Larry Mitchell, and Billy Mitchell (Joyce); two sisters: Evelyn Frederick, and Rose Bixby (Bud); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers: Henry, Carl, Francis, and Florian Mitchell; and a sister: Ceil Malone.
Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to her life from 6-8pm Thursday July 27, 2023 at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA, and to her Mass of Christian Burial, 10am, Friday, July 28, 2023 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 38 Central Avenue, Wellsboro, PA. Burial will be in the Wellsboro Cemetery.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday August 18, the week of her birthday, at 6:30pm in Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea, PA.
