Cynthia Muccio-Barnard, 61, of 532 Armory Road, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 23, 1961, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Raymond and Patricia Gleixner Wickett. Cynthia was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1979. Cindy had a passion for learning and studying scriptures, so that she could counsel her clients from the Word of God. She earned her Associate Degree in 2002 from the University of Pittsburgh, her Bachelor of Science Degree from Trinity College of Florida in 2011, and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2011. She was a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and was a Christian Counselor for Be Transformed in St. Marys.
On July 29, 2015, in Abington, PA, Cynthia married Dr. Mark Barnard, who survives.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by two children: Joseph Muccio (Brianne) of St. Marys and Anthony Muccio (Yvonne) of St. Marys; four step-children: David Barnard (Danielle) of East Norriton, PA Rachel Barnard of East Lansing, MI, Ruth Barnard of Philadelphia, PA, and Anastasia Barnard of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren: Giuliana, Marcus, Dominic, and Kase; two step-grandchildren: Christian and Hailey; four sisters: Linda Baker of St. Marys, Peggy Anderson (Doug) of St. Marys, Sandra Cowan of Tampa, FL, and Victoria Aaron (Dr. Trudy Peterman) of Altoona; one brother, Daniel Wickett (Fran) of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
A memorial service will be held privately by her family.
