Joyce M. (Sargent) Mattison, age 87, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Sunday, May 14, 2023. 

She was born on October 15, 1935 in Wellsboro, PA a daughter of the late William J. and Lillian E. (Hart) Sargent. 

She was retired from Corning Glass Works, Wellsboro, PA and was married for 67 years to Clair Mattison. 

Joyce enjoyed sewing, camping, doing needlepoint, playing bingo, cake decorating, working in her flower gardens, taking care of others and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband: Clair Mattison of Wellsboro, PA, three sons: Dale (Tammy) Mattison of Tioga, PA, Neil (Julie) Mattison of Port Charlotte, FL, Kevin (Chris) Mattison of Middlebury Center, PA, daughter: Faye St. John of Wellsboro, PA, sister: Gloria Jean Weader of Holley, NY, eight grandchildren: Jason (Melissa) Mattison, Jeffrey (Misty Jo) Osborn, Michael (Jennifer) Mattison, Daniel Mattison, Stephen Osborn, Brandy (Kyle) Coleson, Eric Osborn, Noah (Alley) Mattison, 24 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by a son: Keith Mattison and two brothers. 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 18 from 4 to 6 pm at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA and on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 1 to 3 pm at the funeral home.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Glenda Brooks Hammond officiating.  Interment will be in the Shumway Hill Cemetery, Wellsboro, PA.
