Josephine E. Pavlock, 81, of 2850 Campbelltown Rd., Hutchins, and formerly of Ft. Myers, FL and Pittsburgh
Josephine E. Pavlock, 81, of 2850 Campbelltown Rd., Hutchins, and formerly of Ft. Myers, FL and Pittsburgh, died unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, April 10, 2023 at her residence.
She was born on June 10, 1941 in Johnsonburg, a daughter to the late Max and Amelia Bodistow Pavlock. A 1959 graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Josephine enlisted in the US Army and was educated as an X-Ray Technician. While in the Army, she reached the rank of Sergeant and was on staff at the Military Hospital at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. Upon completion of her military service, she worked at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, for Dr. Ronald Gilcher, private practice in Pittsburgh, and at Ft. Myers General Hospital, Ft. Myers, FL.
Josephine had been a member of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg and the Mt. Jewett American Legion. She was an avid outdoorswoman and loved to hunt and lived life on her terms. While living in Pittsburgh and planning for her retirement, she built a three masted schooner which she named the Shangri La. After her first retirement in Pittsburgh, she sailed that schooner to Florida. She was also a certified scuba instructor.
Josephine is survived by her brother and sisters Patricia Janoski of Kane, Mary Ann Pennington of Johnsonburg, Arthur āArtā Pavlock and his wife Mary Kay of Johnsonburg, and Connie Steudler of Johnsonburg.
In addition to her parents, Josephine is predeceased by a brother Stanley āStashā Pavlock and a nephew John Pennington.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine E. Pavlock will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Friday April 21, 2023 at 10:30 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel, 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, PA on Friday morning from 9 to 10:15 AM.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg-Ridgway Military Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Friday morning at 9:45 AM.
