Patricia A. “Pat” Christy, of Warren, PA.
Patricia A. “Pat” Christy, of Warren, PA., died Thursday afternoon, April 6, 2023, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA., after a brief illness. She was born August 23, 1949, in Titusville, PA.
Pat was the daughter of Russell and Bernice Martin Hunter. She was a longtime resident of Warren for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Tidioute High School and had worked as a secretary at Penn State University for 2 year and worked at New Process Company for 2 years. Pat was an active member at St. Joseph R.C. Church where she was involved with the building and grounds committee, banquet, and funeral luncheon committees. She had served numerous times as President of the Warren Garden Club where she also held different titles. While she was president of the garden club, they were recognized for a Statewide Award-Winning Garden Book. She was a member of the Warren Antique Club. She was awarded a blue ribbon for her apple pies at the Warren County Fair and was stopped by competing in the State Fair due to an ice storm. She is lovingly remembered by her children, as a woman who came from the small town of Tidioute, but made sure her children were taken to Los Angeles, CA, and Canada where she did curling, and other foreign countries. All in the interests of exposing her children to different ways of life.
Patricia is survived by her 3 children – Mary Riisen and husband, Robert– Downington, PA., Dr. Patrick Christy and husband, Marc Sambula of Rosslyn Farms, PA., Mark Christy and wife, Jennifer of Warren, PA., 2 Sisters – Mary Sampson and husband, Charles of Grand Valley, PA., Sarah McLaughlin of Tidioute, PA.,
6 Grandchildren – Connor, Taylor, Amanda, Cooper Riisen, Rachel Christy and Dominic Caprino, several nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph T. Christy who died March 31, 2022, her sister, Ruth Miller, and brother, William Hunter.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 6 to 8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA., with Fr. Richard C. Tomasone, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Warren, PA.
