Clifford L. “Ted” Boyer, 89, of Chestnut St., Port Allegany, PA
Clifford L. “Ted” Boyer, 89, of Chestnut St., Port Allegany, PA passed away Monday (Mar. 27, 2023) in the Olean General Hospital.
Born in Liberty Township, PA, on Sept. 18, 1933, he was the son of Ella Boyer. On June 28, 1958, in Keating Summit, he married Audrey “Connie” Mantz, who died Jan. 1, 2020. They were married 61 years.
Ted was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, class of 1952.
He was employed with the Pittsburgh Corning Co. formerly of Port Allegany, retiring in January 1996, after 43 ½ years of service.
Ted was a veteran having served with the US Army, during the Korean War (1954-56).
He attended the United Methodist Church of Port Allegany.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 460, Port Allegany. He enjoyed the outdoors, both camping and boating. He also spent much of his summers gardening, mowing his yard and taking care of his flowers.
Surviving are two sons, Randy A. (Deborah) Boyer and Barry D. (Carey) Boyer both of Port Allegany; a daughter, Sallie J. (Gene) Wild of Cuba, NY; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Raymond Dickerson of Denver, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, wife, Audrey “Connie”, a daughter, Cynthia S. Baxter, and a half-sister, Nancy Boser.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday (April 1, 2023) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. with Rev. Matt Howe, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating.
