Dean “Lee” Taylor, 81, of Glen Hazel Road, St. Marys, passed away at Penn Highlands DuBois on March 18, 2023.
He was born on July 26, 1941 in Ridgway, a Son of the late Howard and Betty Kohlhepp Taylor.
On April 18, 1969, he married Mary Paropacic who survives. Together they shared more than 53 years of marriage.
Dean was an Airforce veteran and a member of the Shiloh Presbyterian Church. He also belonged to the St. Marys Legion and the St. Marys Sportsman Club. In his free time, Dean enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially while chopping wood. He also loved going hunting. Dean was a true family man and the best husband, father and grandfather. He was a great athlete and a very gifted basketball player. Dean was a well liked and loved person, and no one ever had a bad thing to say about him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 6 children; Barb (Mike) Kronenwetter of St. Marys, Scott (Tonya) Taylor of St. Marys, Dean (Julie) Taylor of St. Marys, Doug (Kim) Taylor of St. Marys, and twins Jessie Taylor of NC, and Jessica (Mike) Martonik of Kane; and by his 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Philip (Barb) Taylor and Gary (Dawn) Taylor, both of St. Marys, and 1 sister-in-law; Bonita Taylor, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by 1 son; John Taylor, 1 granddaughter; Taylor, 1 great-granddaughter; Kinsley, and by 1 brother; Lynn Taylor.
A memorial service for Dean “Lee” Taylor will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Shiloh Presbyterian Church, 217 Washington Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Pastor Scott Wiest officiating.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.
There will be no visitation
