Smethport – Carolyn “Connie” Stilson Bishop, 81, of Smethport, passed away in Grove City, PA on Thursday (October 22, 2026) at Orchard Manor, Grove City. 

She was born November 28, 1944 in Oil City, PA, the daughter of Galen E. and Doris I. (Watson) Stilson . She married James Herbert Bishop, who preceded her in death in December, 1982. 

Connie was a graduate of Smethport Area High School and played several instruments for a traveling missionary group post high school.  She worked as a sales clerk for Terri Anne’s Flower Shop and Lindgren’s Variety Store, both in Smethport.  She directed music at East Smethport United Christian Church and played piano and organ there for many years.  Connie loved spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren (listed below) 

Connie is survived by: 

Two sons: Andrew (Amy) Bishop and Daniel (Karen) Bishop, both of Grove City, PA 

Grandchildren Alayna Bishop, Alexis Bishop, Calen Bishop, Abbie Bishop, Haley Bishop, and Roody Bishop.

Several nieces and nephews including Troy Stilson, John & Terri Ann (Stilson) Silva, Dan & Casey (Stilson) Winseck, and Dan & Corey (Stilson) Butler. 

One brother: Galen “Butch” (Jean) Stilson, Jr. of Seattle, WA

 In addition to her parents and husband, Connie was preceded in death by one brother, David “Terry” Stilson. 

There will be no visitation or services at this time. A memorial service for Connie will be held at East Smethport United Christian Church (East Smethport, PA) on Saturday, November 14 @ 11 am.
