Christopher R. Wright, Age 61, of Smethport

Christopher R. Wright, age 61, of Smethport, Pennsylvania, passed away on the 2nd of October, 2026. Born in Olean, New York, on the 7th of June, 1965, to Lewellyn (Sarge) and Leatrice (Mickey). On the 11th of September 1993, he married his wife, Tammy. He spent his years enriching the lives of those around him with his warmth and wit.
Christopher was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina; his brother, Tim; his mother, Leatrice (Mickey); his father, Lewellyn (Sarge); and his brother-in-law, Allen (Butch). He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy, his son Brandon (Brianna), and his three cherished grandchildren, Eris, Eli, and Ezra. He also leaves behind his sister, Sandy, his sister Marsha (Harry), his brother, Brian (Trisha), and many loving nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Christopher spent many years working at Isadore’s Dairy, building a reputation for hard work and dedication. He retired from PennDot in June 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service and integrity. He enjoyed hunting and collecting guns, hobbies that reflected his love for the outdoors and his appreciation for craftsmanship. A social member of VFW Post 976 in Smethport, PA, Christopher was always ready to lend a hand or share a story.
Christopher was known for his witty humor and his love for his family and friends. His strong connection with his wife and son was apparent to all who knew him, and his caring, giving nature made him a beloved figure in his community. He was known for his strong will, a trait that saw him through many challenges and endeared him to all who knew him.
Christopher’s life will be celebrated at a later date at the VFW in Smethport, PA, following cremation at Steen Funeral Home in Ashland, KY. The date will be announced, giving those whose lives were touched by Christopher an opportunity to share their memories and pay their respects.
In his memory, we are reminded of the importance of family, the strength of a loving community, and the impact one person’s kindness can have on the lives of others. As we celebrate Christopher’s life, we also celebrate the love, humor, and strength he brought into our lives. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire us all.
