Eileen J. CARPENTER, 92, of Coudersport, PA, died Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.  Born April 15, 1934, in Alexandria, VA, she was the son of Elvin Oscar Eugene and Agnes M. Baccigalupo Johnston. 

 On February 17, 1951, in Coudersport, she married Mark L. Carpenter, who predeceased her on August 9, 1995.  A graduate of Shinglehouse High School, she was employed by John’s Exxon, Mickey’ Diner, and Leet Brothers.  Allergic to dogs, cats, and flowers, she still loved them all.  She loved her family and was the glue that held everyone together.  

Surviving are: five children, William “Bill” Carpenter of Coudersport, Andrew Carpenter of Olean, Marleen Majot of Coudersport, Roger (Betsy) Carpenter of Jamestown, NY, and Raymond (Angela) Carpenter of Shinglehouse; daughter-in-law, Rose Carpenter of Gold; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Walter A. Carpenter; and a brother, Elvin “Buck” Johnston, Jr.  

A gathering to celebrate Eileen’s life will be held on a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915.
