September community support groups and education classes in Bradford and Olean

BRADFORD, PA / OLEAN, NY – During September, Bradford Medical Park (BMP) and Olean General Hospital (OGH), Kaleida Health facilities, are offering a variety of classes and support groups designed to provide health education, encouragement and community connection.
For those who are completing CPR training for licensure or work, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) classes are being offered to the community by the Clinical Education Department. September’s class will be held in Bradford in the Community Room in the main lobby on Wednesday, September 2, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost to attend the class is $40. If you are scheduled for total joint replacement surgery, join our Total Joint Care Class. This class provides an overview of your procedure, the recovery process and the rehabilitation you will need. It is led by an experienced member of our outpatient rehabilitation team. This month, the class will be held on Wednesday, September 16, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the OGH Education Center on the first floor. To register, call 716-375-7481.
The Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Workshop helps individuals take charge of their diabetes with expert guidance and support. The comprehensive program at OGH covers key aspects of diabetes self-care, including meal planning, medication management and lifestyle strategies. The workshop will take place in the OGH Education Center on the first floor. The dates and times are as follows:
· Wednesday, September 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
· Wednesday, September 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Diet-focused session)
· Wednesday, September 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

At BMP, individuals can connect with others dealing with the loss of a friend or loved one by attending the Grief Relief Support Group. Grief can feel overwhelming, but you are not alone. The meeting is held in the Community Room inside the BMP main lobby. This compassionate and supportive group provides a place where you can share your journey with others who understand. The group will meet on Tuesday, September 29, from 4 to 5 p.m. For more information, call 814-362-8288. No registration is required. The meeting is free and open to the public.
