HG’s Free Summer Theater Arts Camp

Hamilton-Gibson Productions invites students completing grades 4-9 to register for the popular Summer Theater Arts Camp for Kids, taking place June 22-26 at the Tioga County Fairgrounds in Whitneyville. The deadline to sign up is Friday, June 5.
Thanks to generous sponsorship from the Deerfield Charitable Trust, Seneca Resources and others, the camp is at no cost to student participants. This year’s theme is AMERICAN ART combining our 250th birthday with a wild look at artists who helped make America great. All the songs, plays, and activities focus on our foremothers and forefathers who explored the creative process. These folks include musicians, painters, dancers, writers, and sculptors. Each camper will build confidence as they engage with a host of staff members conducting sessions in building a character, projecting the voice, singing, dancing, creating graphic arts, and having some serious fun. The camp culminates with two public performances on Friday, June 26 at 3:00 and 6:00pm.
“The Tioga County Fairgrounds is a great location to hold the camp as the structures we use are open air,” said Thomas Putnam, director of the camp. “There’s space to hold our sessions with a feeling of being outside. We’re looking forward to another good camp. Kids from all over the county—and beyond—have made friends whom they don’t see anywhere else but in camps; it’s a great opportunity to meet new friends.”
Camp is open to any child within driving distance of the Tioga County Fairgrounds, and transportation is provided from various pick-up points in Tioga County. If you would like transportation information, please note this on your registration form.
