Sandy J. Heck, age 87, of Tioga, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Guthrie Corning Hospital in Corning, NY.

She was born on November 2, 1938, the daughter of Major William Grandin and Beverly (Palmeter) Neidlinger. Sandy was married to the late James R. Heck who passed away on June 24, 2001. She was a study hall monitor at Williamson High School and a telephone operator in Potter County in the 50s.

Sandy was a member of the Eastern Star in Knoxville, PA and the Potter County Anglers Club. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with her special friends, Norma Walters, Kay Hoag, and Pat Wilcox.

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Julie Preston of Lawrenceville, PA; four sons, Michael (Patricia) Heck of Camden, TN, David (Tina) Heck of Tioga, PA, Brian (Melissa) Heck of Tioga, PA, and George (Teresa) Heck of Tioga, PA; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; a sister, Reba Pierce of Alleghany, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two brothers-in-law, Gene (Sharon) Heck of Knoxville, PA and Pete (Nancy) Heck of Knoxville, PA; and a sister-in-law, Sue Heck of Lawrenceville, PA.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepfather, Floyd Neidlinger; a son-in-law, Keith Preston; a brother, Bill Grandin; and two sisters, Joy Pekarski and Charlene Meacham.

Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 5pm to 7pm and Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 12pm to 1pm at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 1pm with Pastor Harry Dow officiating. Burial will take place in Farmington Hill Cemetery in Tioga, PA.
